Engine oil weight for PW80?

Recommended Posts

I bought my daughter a 2003 PW80 and i'm not sure what weight of engine oil to use? I already have the 2-stroke oil.

I ran Shell Rotella T 10w40 is my sons PW50. For a bike like this there is no need to spend a ton of money one a motorcycle specific oil. But don't use 10w30. It is to slick for the clutches. Well, for a big bike. It may not matter on a PW80.

Now that he is on a KTM 50 we use the Maxima 75wt.

Thanks for the link to the manual. The manual calls for 10w30, but i think i'll put 10w40 in it. Thanks for the responses.

Don't know if it has a normal clutch, but if it does, you'll want to avoid the oils that say "energy conserving" on the back. If I'm not mistaken, the Exxon 10-40 is the only one that isn't energy conserving. Rotella 15-40 is also non energy conserving.
