Question about Rake

Recommended Posts

I have a 2002 450 and I keep hearing bout how crappy it turns. I know this first hand! I am going to make improvements I just purchased a Applied 22mm Offset clamp.

I know from the past threads i have posted that this is one of the things I can do. Along with that I am going to slide my forks up 5mm. I am also softening up my front shocks a couple clicks to get it to dive more into corners.

My question is, How does this work? Will the offset clamps put the tire further out in front of the bike or bring it back in under it?

Also with what i am doing, do you think i will see a drastic or minimal change in turning?

Thanks!

The clamps will pull the front tire in, closer to the bike. I found the 20mm clamps more effective than the 22's, they made a bigger difference and with them I didn't need to change anything else, the bike turns great. As far as raising the forks, it is just personal preference and you will just need to play with it to see what you like.
