I have been worrying about that place too. I called the Fire info line, and 'Dave' said that the fire is slowly creeping that way but didn't say the place had burned yet, fortunately. More info here:

http://cdfdata.fire.ca.gov/incidents/incidents_details_info?incident_id=108

Quoted from CDF webpage:

"Fire continues to creep and smolder with minimal spread."

What a pisser. The ARB is considering changing the rule to allow red stickers there 6 months out of the year instead of just 2.

Damn we should have went on that last ride Mike!!

looks like it went thru some of espinosa trail. up to the edge of spur meadow

trail. our first loop of the day for about twenty years include those trails.

hope it was kind to the oak groves where we stop for our first break.

If there is any good to come from this, maybe some of the blind corners

have been opened up a little.(hate head on's. :ride: 6 screws, 1 plate- still with me)

That is great news.

What a bummer about the fire, but at least nature can recover relatively quickly.

I guess they can expand CC to include Hauser and Pine Creek Wilderness' now that they've been allowed to be reduced to charcoal. Then again, you won't be allowed to ride CC because of erosion. It will be one gigantic mudslide come winter.

Our firefighters are using the same tools to fight fire that were used long ago and with the same results. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results. For some reason, they refuse to look at new technology that seems to work wonders in other countrys.

If I lost a home to fire because these political animals were protecting their turf or whatever the excuse, I'd be looking to put some heads on pikes.

Its a drag, for sure...but part of life and nature. And last I heard was only %20 contained. I had heard one of the fires was started by an illeagel alien cooking or something stupid. But I am not sure if it was the Horse fire.

Thats even more reason to get serious about protecting our borders and making people enter here legally and doing whst required by law to become a citizen. No more free rides

Amen, justicedone. You are correct, the fire was started by an Illegal Alien. It's well known the proximity of CC to the Mexican border makes that a well travelled route by the illegals.

if you or i started the fire we would be hunted down, jailed

and fined. but the person that started this will be cutting someones

grass next week or another const. worker that can't understand

English

I was there at 11am Sunday. We had to leave by 3pm. By that time there was smoke surrounding us and ash was falling. Of all the days I chose to go and there's a fire going on. I hope the fire doesn't get to Corral Canyon.

I appreciate the confirmation of closure. I wasn't able to get any real information from the numbers on my adventure pass. Any idea when it will reopen? Closed for 06-07 season? I buy the adventure pass and then it's taken away. "Thats how they get you."

You guys ever notice how much the USFS sites suck? I usually cant find the information I am looking for. Here is the up to date stuff for the Horse Fire. http://inciweb.org/incident/336/

Notice how text is overlapping? Pathetic.
