Recommended Posts

I just got my ais removal kit in the mail and it say's to use a sealant when I install the plugs. Can I use the red Locktite or JB Weld?

If it is the Thumpertalk's AIS removal, then just use high temp RTV on the vacuum plug. You don't need to use it on the plug near the exhaust because it's a tighter press fit than the vacuum plug.

You can use RTV on the exhaust plug, but it will just burn off.

If the red loctite or JB Weld can withstand the heat (~300F-500F), by all means use it for the vacuum plug.
