help asap

i have a 06 yz125 i was going to put fork seals in it. but when i the owners manual says to us s1 fork oil. what weight do i need? i ride xc and weigh 165 thanx

I'm sure that Yam and the dealership will recommend it but you really don't HAVE to. There are plenty of other quality fork fluids that will work also.

The standard Yamaha oil tends to be hyroscopic by nature. (Meanig it attracts moisture). I'm sure many tuners will tell you of rust within Yamaha forks as well as a glutenous looking fluid that would appear to be more at home on the film set of Alien than in a damping mechanism. Seek out a quality 5wt fluid and don't look back.
