Recommended Posts

Where is the main jet on the klx300 carb? Any help, even a diagram, would be much appreciated.

You have to remove the fuel bowel to get to the main and pilot jets.

It's the big brass thing right in the middle. Also, put in allen head screws before you put the carb back on the bike - then you can easily remove the bowl while the carb is still on the bike.

One of life's unsolved mysteries; why original equipment manufacturers (OEM's) choose easily-boogered Phillips-head machine screws, instead of Allen-head (hex socket) or even hex-head machine screws as fasteners on carburetors.

Steel machine screw threads, mating with alloy "pot-metal" carb body threaded holes, likely will seize in time from Galvanic corrosion; maximum torque, unavailable with an ordinary Phillips-head screwdriver, becomes necessary for removal.

Anybody seen my impact driver and ball-peen hammer?
