Carb keeps overflowing

Recommended Posts

I have an 04 TC450, and when I turned the gas on my bike, the gas started flowing out the overflow tube. I thought the float might be getting stuck, so i pulled off the bottom of the bowl. Did not look dirty, so I turned the gas on and moved the float up and down, the gas shut off so I put it all back together. Now when I turn the gas on, the gas no longer flows out the overflow, but starts flowing out of a tube higher up on the carb. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

It sounds like your float really might be sticking, I would clean out the float bowl one more time and check the float height, maybe lower it a bit to make sure the fuel is turning off soon enough, thats all I got, it happened to me once on my Husky and just cleaning the float bowl out solved the problem even though I found nothing in it that should have caused it to hang up.

BTW, I know nothing of the Mikuni's.

Similar used to happen on my 250 when the bike was leaning a bit to either side, but more when leaning to the right!

I lowered the float height and it seems to have stopped
