Help!!!!!Stator

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know what would cause the stator to get damage. Let me explain what happened....

I had an amazing day riding and jumping my WR250F. and the next day i go to start it and it took a few kicks (3 or 4, but it always starts on the first or second try) and then the kicker jammed at the high point. i brought it to get fixed and they figured out it was my magneto and flywheel that were damaged. and they told my it was pretty rare for that to happen. its the second time they change it on that bike. Any ideas.....

Now i ordered it but its back ordered from yamaha, no date given.

Do you know if it can be repaired instead??? ?

Thanks

Sometimes the rivets come out of the stator causing this damage. Do a search on "rivets" and you should find some info.

Some guys think that if you lug it too much at very low RPM, this can happen. Never had it happen on mine yet, and I'm a lugger, so I'm not sure if that's right or not. Maybe some guys run even lower RPM.
