'04 CR250 Throttle Stop Screw

Recommended Posts

I own the service manual to this bike and checked what it said about setting the throttle stop screw on the carburetor. All I could find was, during assembly of the carb, it says "install throttle stop screw". That's it! There's no recommendation of how far or how many turns or anything.

How do you know that it's properly set? The reason I ask is I mistakenly messed with it thinking it was the air screw. I made a change and the bike ran better at idle. Then I found the air screw and thought I better adjust the throttle stop screw to where it should be. The service manual is no help.

Thanks,

Grizz

There is no one setting. Get the engine to operating temperature and set the idle speed where you like it. If you tend to stall the engine while riding, you can try increasing the idle speed a bit  .
