New IMS 2.6 team tank install (Pic)

Recommended Posts

I just installed the IMS 2.6 team tank on my '06 S. I think this is an under appreciated tank. I had a heck of a time finding one. But I really like it and just wanted to share. Later. Piz.

Very Nice

For me though I'd run out of gas on my normal off-road run with the 2.6....

DRpuckheadZ,

I was thinking the same thing that it was the same size as stock. Why change? I was thinking of trying to find a 3.2.

the IMS 2.6 tank completely changes the feel. It lowers the front of the seat allot, making it flatter. Much better off road riding position. You can also install a quick fill in the IMS tank :ride:

wouldn't you have to break or at least flex the plastic in the seat "pan" to make it lower?? quick fill would be good for racing though  .

Isn't the stock 2.8 gal?

my manual says: 2.6 u.s. gal. including reserve.

Stock is 2.64 gallons (from the Suzuki website).

Any problems with bending the front of the seat down onto the GNCC tank?

I know a guy who has dented his steel tank with his knees,,,,,two different times

From what I've heard seat works fine with the 2.6

And sorry about the wrong figure, I was not sure of the capacity.

Bronco's right. Completely changes the feel of the bike. Lowers the front of the seat an inch or so with no problems by the way. The front hook is just lower so it pulls the front of the seat down. Way easier to scoot up on the tank and stay there off road. Slims the bike by a few inches by pulling the shrouds in also. I also just want this thing to be a totally street legal dirt bike. So the cooling fan and horn had to go and a larger tank would be counter productive in reaching my goal. The metal clear coated shiny tank just wasn't cutting it in my opinion. I just want to beat it up and make it go. The ability to see the gas is cool too. Piz.
