Oil cooler for '00 650L?

I asked a tech at XR's Only about oil coolers on the L. He told not to bother. He said 1st off the oil pump is not designed to produce enough oil pressure for an added cooler and lines. And he said it's just not needed.

I saw this link from another forum. I don't remember which one though. I am in the process of doing it now. I drop the bike off this Friday to get the mount for it welded on the neck. Hope it turns out ok. I'm using the cooler and lines off a XR250. I am just going to mod the lines to make it work. I hope this helps.

Make sure and pull apart and re-grease your steering head bearings. MIG may not generate enough heat to cook the grease, but I'd check it just in case.

Does look like a REALLY neat cooler. I wonder... DockingPilot may have a point. Wonder if the L has the pressure to utilize the extra cooling area...

Maybe the guys with a temp dipstick can sound off on this. Temp drops, must work?
