Please help me to find a couple of products for my truck!

Recommended Posts

I once saw this ad in a mag for this hauling thing. It is a steel bar maybe 2"wide x 2"tallx 48"long (or so) with little chocks in three places that enable you to put 2 bikes facing foward and one facing backwards out of the truck. It also has little eye holes for the tie downs to hook onto. This whole piece bolts onto the very top of the bed right up next to the cab. I really want to get one because I am going to be getting the keys to my family's F150 within the next week and I know that having this little thing will make hauling bikes in the back a LOT easier.

Also, if anybody knows of the little bars that you use to keep the tailgate partially closed I would love to find out the name of it. My trucks bed is long but not long enough to fit a bike when it is completely straight.

If you can weld or know someone who can weld build it yourself, I did. Here is one I made for my trailer and one I made for a friends truck ...

Trailer Bar

Truck Bed Bar

The bar is 3/16" x 2" flat (cut to length) and 2"x3" angle cut in 2" sections to fit the flat bar. Total cost for the trailer bar was about $32 and that included powder coating.

Sounds like you're describing the "Bed Buddy" from CCR Sport. I had one in my previous truck, I really liked it.
