New Bike for less than $600

Recommended Posts

I just mounted 400S wheels and tires that I bought from someone on SMJ. It makes the bike seem totally different. It only takes about 30 minutes or less to change them out. Wheels $400 and new tires, rotor, and tubes <$150. Now I just need to get some dirt skills.

I cheaped out and bought Kenda DOT knobbies, they look similiar to mx tires that are street legal. I did read about "death wings" and others and stayed away. It is a big difference from the 17" Pilot race that I am used to.

The kenda dot knobbies are pretty good in the dirt man. Alot of guys get good preformance on the street but they fell apart for me.

I've heard that E wheels have a clearance issue with the brakes on an SM. I find that hard to believe, as the E wheels are larger. Anybody know if this is true?
