Crank hole plug ?

Recommended Posts

The cover is sealed by an "O" ring, and has a nasty habit of seizing in place.

You could try laying the bike on it's side and soaking it in penetrating oil.

Usually you end up destroying the plug, or at least the hexagonal hole getting it out.

I would order a new plug, either a genuine Suzuki one, or the engraved alloy one from E-Bay.

When refitting or replacing the plug, as well as the "O" ring, put a couple of turns of PTFE tape round the threads, it stops any possible leak, and prevents the plug from getting stuck in place.

TIP: This got mine out in one piece, carefully degrease the plug and an Allen key, and locktite the key in the hole with red loctite, allow to dry overnight, and use a piece of tube to give more leverage.
