compression on a '92 dr250s

hey guys, so im restoring this 250 i got for a couple hundred bucks and when i checked the compression it was 200psi, isn't that a bit high? :thumbsup: anyways, i have the clymer manual and it does not mention it anywhere

ya i was thinking the same thing (except carbon buildup instead of oil), but even if there is buildup/oil it shouldent make that huge of a difference right? im guessing it should be around 150... as far as the guage, its a new snapon my buddy uses for work at bmw so i doubt its faulty... hey another question, i know the head was taken off the bike, is there anyway to find out if a highcomp piston was installed or something?
