front disc brake

Recommended Posts

Just got back from baja with my 650 and it was great. except for the flat tire.

a buddy brought his 88 dr650 and he had plastics covering his front disc.

Is this needed?

Should I cover my disc?

If you want to protect your front brake rotor, its a good idea. I'm looking to pick one up myself. I took a chunk out of the front rotor playing/crashing in the rocks one day.

The break gaurds work great if it is a slight tap, but they are no good if you smash into a rock. But I think that they look cool.

I would hope if I hit a rock my guard would be capable of preventing rotor damage even if the guard itself was destroyed.
