qadsan Posted August 8, 2006 If I still had it I would, but its long gone. However, in the article I wrote years ago that's posted on 4strokes, the drawing in the upper right hand corner (click to enlarge) was from the Honda bulletin that's included in the HRC kit. http://4strokes.com/tech/honda/airbox
trailsurfer Posted August 8, 2006 How does this mod work on otherwise stock (uncorked) bikes? Precision Concepts told me not to do it using a stock cam.

rmhrc630 Posted August 17, 2006 Can you guys explain where I might get #30 mesh from? Are there any other terms for it? Is it a specialist type mesh or would I get it from the hardware store? #30 refers to the size yeah?
Ramcc4x4 Posted August 18, 2006 I forget the #mesh that I bought but when I did mine I purchased "hardware cloth". It held up great!
captb Posted August 18, 2006 Here's mine cut it out with a dremel hobby tool, glued in some black window screen 40 minutes while watching Speed TV, done deal works fine. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v366/captb/XR650R1a.jpg

qadsan Posted August 18, 2006 Can you guys explain where I might get #30 mesh from? Are there any other terms for it? Is it a specialist type mesh or would I get it from the hardware store? #30 refers to the size yeah? Yes, #30 refers to the amount of openings per linear inch (25.4mm for you ) of the woven material. So a #30 mesh means there will be 30 openings within 25.4mm from the center of any wire to the center of a parallel wire of the woven material. If you can't find #30 mesh, then finding something close is good enough. Also, my advice is to pay the money and get some good screen made from T304 or T316, etc, stainless steel so it does not rust. Huffa 2 Posted August 19, 2006 Blais Racing offers a kit to do the side panel.....also offer a complete sidepanel as well. http://www.blaisracingservices.com/html/xr650r_14.html I don't recall ever seeing one XR with this kit on. Anyone have it and a pic? The others look good too. All these methods applicable to the L as well? ----------------------------------------------------------
XR4DEZ Posted August 19, 2006 It might take in more air but that doesn't mean it breathes better. Honda does not recommend the mod without the cam. So who's right?
