UK/EU/AU PAIR query

Recommended Posts

I have received some sage advice about removing the whole shebang (Thanks Mr. Clayton), but am wondering if blocking the vacuum feed from the carb will disable the device. I would guess that no vac = no air injection into the exhaust, but am not sure. I will chuck the whole thing in the bin at some later point.

Cheers

It is a "ported" vacuum arrangement I think. That means it is controlled by throttle plate position. It is designed to be not active at idle and be active above idle. You will have to experiment to see if you want HI vac or LO vac to disable. My choice would be to leave it alone or remove completely. It doesn't hurt anything as long as it works normal. The only reason to remove is to get rid of the junk and clutter. Oddly enough, US DRZ's don't have the system. However, my 95 Honda VFR did when the UK bikes did not????
