XR 650R spring rate front and rear.

Recommended Posts

So thru the years 00-present, has the 650 spring rates stayed the same and what range of weight would you say they match up to?

Sort of a tough one because the bike is a do it all machine so I guess I should also ask for street riding and for getting a bit aggressive on trails but no jumping hardly at all and probably never.

I'm 6' - 200 lbs.

Scroll down towards the bottom of the page to see the chart. The stock spring rates are shown in blue and match up to a 160-180lb rider. According to the chart you would want .45kg fork springs and 10.0 - 10.5kg shock spring.

It's not so much about being able to jump or not, it's more about keeping the bike's geometry in 'balance.'
