Chain choices for RM 125?

Recommended Posts

It's getting near time for a chain and sprocket set for my RM 125. I have been quite happy with how long the stock chain has lasted, and I am leaning toward gettting a standard RK or Primary Drive chain. However, I am wondering if an X or O ring chain is appropariate for a 125 and worth the extra money, or are they primarily for more powerful bikes? This is my first dirtbike since the 70s, so I'm not familiar with the latest chain technology. Thanks!

Unless you ride offroad, I wouldn't go for the o-ring, you don't need it. On a 125 you want the lightest thing you can get. If you want heavy duty, a DID ERT gold will last a long time and look good.
