? about new 250f 450f reliability

Recommended Posts

I was talking to a guy the other day and he told me his buddy is a mechanic at a local dealership. He said his buddy told him that on the new 06 and up 250 and 450 4 strokes motocross bikes the manufactures are recommending head rebuilds every 10 hours?!? Is this true???? Have they shaved so much weight off of the bikes that they have become that unreliable? I have a 2000 yz426f and it's bullet proof.

What the book recommends and what is actually needed are two totally seperate things. They are still rock solid with the exception of the early 06 YZF250's that got a bad batch of valves which were subsequently recalled.

Yeah, I can't wait to leave work!

Seriously though don't worry about having to re-build a 450 every ten hours. Once a year maybe.
