428 Conversion?

Recommended Posts

I was flipping through the pages of Dirt Bike magazine and i came across an add. It was saying that sidewinder has a conversion kit to convert the 520 chain to a 428 to save weight. It is possible to do it by myself somehow?

Sure, buy the chain and both sprockets from Sidewinder, then install. As long as you are mildly mechanically inclined, you can do it. I did it to a CRF150F in less then an hour.

If you can find another bike that is a 428 with the same bolt pattern as your rear sprocket and splined like the front, then yes.

Sorry, when I said do it myself I ment like get the sprockets and chain from a different, cheaper source and make my own kit.
