Whats the plate on the slide do.

I have 06 RMZ450, I had the slide out of the carby to check the plate on the front of the slide was fitting correctly, it seemed to be. I notice when I assembled the slide back in the carby the plate was a loose fit between the slide and the carby body, it that normal ?.

its called the vacuum release plate.

if it was not set up like that the slide would stock from the vacuum created by the motor.

square end goes down.

hanks, is there anything to watch for when reassembling the slide back into the carby body.

make sure the rubber seal is in good shape and that the square end of the plate goes to the bottom.
