I emptyed all of the oil out of the fork moved the dust cap out of the way took the retaining clip out and have been pounding (like a jack hammer ) on the fork to get the seal out.

what should I do next I have new seals to go back in and oil to replace the old oil and just want to get this thing done with.

I kept at it and it finally came out. Not without a lot of cussing and beer :ride:

I believe there is a washer that should come out and it does seem like it wants to. any help here? Oh well more beer and cussing

It has been a couple years since i did my 2000 RM250 fork seals....

But I will give it a shot....

After you seperate the tubes remove the bushings( do not over extend your bushings), washer, oil seal, clip and dust cap from the lower tube.

Empty oil from lower tube.

Put a plastic bag over the lower tube and cover it with fork oil.

Install your dust cap, clip, oil seal, washer then bushings.

Line the tubes back up... use your fork seal driver to install washer and oil seal.

Install clip, slide dust seal up.

Refill inner and outer tubes per you manual. Don't forget to bleed the inner tube.

Install spring and rest of fork per your manual.

Hope this helps...
