Rear sprocket question.

Recommended Posts

I believe stock gearing is 13/48. A friend I ride with mentioned the other day that he went up to a 49. He said he liked it but I didn't get a chance to ask him what all the difference was.

What would be the advantage of going to a 49? IOW what all would it change?

Please tell me what exactly confuses you?

I'll try to clear it up even though it seems pretty clear.

If I went up one tooth on the rear (the stock is 48, isn't it) to a 49 what would that do in general?

Would it be better for tight woods riding/single track or maybe better for MX. Would it be higher top end or lower? Would it make first gear shorter, longer, etc.?????

lol... read your first post again... you said 48 was stock and asked if going to 48 would make a difference.:ride:
