Do you think motor oil is stopping the dirt from going into my engine?

Your motor......your choice. I say use whatever makes you happy. I use filter oil.....no sense in trying to state your case that motor oil works to the folks that use filter oil.

My $.02

I'm glad I posted the pics and that Eddie saw. i'll spring for the extra money for the official stuff. I seal(or thought i was sealing) the edges with vaseline(petroleum jelly). Is that good enough or no, Ed? Thanks for the replies.

use water proof grease on the seal or use pc-1 proseal.

i use the pro seal.

real air filter oil is tacky enough you can can get away with out either, but its good insurance.

I also use the pro-seal on all three of the bikes in my garage in current use.

I've already made my opinion well known on the subject of motor oil for the air filter
