Shock length 99 cr250 97 cr250 any diff?

I'm putting together a 99 CR250 motard bike with an 01 YZ250 engine. I came across a 97 shock but it appears to be shorter than a 99. That is if I have the correct linkage. Can someone measure their shock from eye to eye and post it? I came up with ~ 18.5". Don't be mad about the YZ engine as I had it as a spare but couldn't get a CR500 mill off ebay cause I kept getting outbid.

the shocks were practically identical from 97-99 with only minor valving changes....BTW, i have a showa kit shock from a 99 model if you are interested...pm me.
