Athena 290cc kit - go leaner or richer?

Just put one of these in my '06 KXF250.

I ride at sea level in SoCal. Stock jetting was fine.

The bike misses above mid-range. It also is a b!tch to start and I've had to turn the idle way up to stop it from stalling.

Which jetting circuits should I adjust, and am I looking to go richer or leaner? I searched the archives but see differing opinions. Cheers!

Hey Eddie, if you're out there, I just found another 'Athena' post where you replied with a link to checking the pilot screw.

If this is all that I need to mess with then I'll go with that. I was just wondering if there are any other circuits I need to adjust.

Thanks Eddie. If I'm going smaller on the main jet, then I'm reducing the amount of fuel, so I'm guessing that doing the big bore kit means you need to lean out the mixture in general, correct?
