std vs hi comp piston?

Recommended Posts

well im getting my top end done tomorrow and i was wondering the ups and downs of a hi compression piston. I wanted to ask someone knowledgable like Kelly(kelstr-because he lives out here) but i dont know what shop he works for so i settled for this. so im wondering- does it need race gas, how is engine life compared to stock, how much is the power gain and what does it feel like on the track, is it worth it? thx

AAAAA+++++ on the Hi Comp Piston.

Better power all over, bike runs fine with it on good premium pump gas. They last as long as any other CRF 250 piston ( 20-100 hours, depends how you ride it). The Hi comp piston is actually better for rod/crank life.
