centrifical oil filter

Recommended Posts

yea i cleaned it about a month ago and all i had to do was take the clutch cover off and take the 3 screws out on the filter, clean it and then slap her back together with the odl gasket and hodls fine. the only reason you would need a new gasket is if it tore or was damaged

Here's a picture of what mine looked like the first time I cleaned it out:

Centrifugal filter

The gunk is in a thin layer around the perimeter of the rotor. You can see where I peeled part of it away near the bottom arc. There's not much, but I still clean mine once a year.

Mine should now be spotlesss, since the mechanic took the whole transmission apartand is running solvents through all the parts. I didn't think it was that easy, taking the side cover off is a 2 minute job and your pretty much there.
