93 xr650l fcr41 problems

Recommended Posts

heres my problems

1. idle hangs up after reving/gentle blips, then stalls. hard to restart, have to hold the throttle open slightly, then ok until touching the throttle again.

2. random stalling, wont restart for a minute.(probably the same prob as above)

3. the pilot screw seems to do nothing at all. stays running screwed all the way in or out.

it seems to run pretty good otherwise. its new to me so i dont have anything to base it on tho.

In consistant idle can be lack of slack in the throttle cables. The cable spool on the carb rather than having a round bottom in the spool/pully has a crotch that the cable sticks into if it does not have sufficent slack.

As for the jets, the main sounds large for use with an "E" series (3rd didget) needle.
