did honda fix the valve problems in 06 model?

Thinking of getting a 06 model have honda fixed the problems they had with the 05 like the gearbox and valves? my mate who is getting a 06 model tomorrow says it should be right to change the piston every 100hrs is this safe?(he rides hard)

if you mean that there is another thread on this i just noticed sorry.

But can you get away with changing piston only every 100hrs?. Whats the worst that could happen?

easy bvb, hes an aussie and he used to rude a drz. No quite as bad as a canadaian but close to bout

The valves don't need "fixed", they are fine.

The 06/07 250/450 R's and X's have the same valve seat material as the 05 450X's.

See the Dirt Rider "tear down" article , 200 hours of hard riding, the piston and the entire engine were great, one valve needed one (an exhaust) adjustment in all that time. Doug
