SM Part Number/Application for fork springs?

Recommended Posts

I've heard RM, RM-Z yadda, yadda...what IS the correct application?

What for instance is the Race-Tech part number for the correct fork springs for the SM .49 or .50?

No one to my knowledge makes fork springs that are specifically for the SM. There are some RM springs that will work, but are either different diameter or length than stock. I had custom springs made for me by Cannon Racecraft to stock dimensions so they fit perfectly. Use the race tech site to calculate spring rate - use the "supercross" choice for use.

Yes it appears that there is a set of RM springs that are very close, about 11mm longer.

I guess that's as close as we get aside from custom springs?

Yes, but I believe it's way too stiff at .55 kg/mm.

Even Joey (the Ohlins guy) mentioned it being too much.

Go with Cannon Racecraft. Not as expensive as you would think for custom made springs. I took sawtdoc's advice back in March and placed the order. Quick delivery time and they are perfect.

Cool, I figured as that's not too much more.

As I'm a petite 220 lbs. I figure it will work! ;-)

Um, I'm lost again!

I thought RM250 application worked but they are way too long or too soft.

Help? Ed, what did you find worked again, specifically?
