rear spring help?

Recommended Posts

I set my race sag to 100 mm and the static sag is at 40 mm. If I have read correctly it should be at 30 mm static, so I should get a softer spring? How do you tell what spring you have? Do you need a spring compresser to take the spring off the shock or just unscrew the rings? Sorry for all the ? and thanks all for your replies.

Is your suspension travel around 300mm?....Just checking as you didn't mention what bike you have.

Yes, you need a softer spring.

Yes, just spin the nuts off.

If there is a suspension shop in your area, they may have the proper scale to determine the spring weight.

Ride on

To take the spring off it's easiest to loosen the two locking rings FIRST, then remove the shock from the bike. The bottom of the shock has like 2 parts that'll come apart and the shock slides out the bottom.
