What years...

Recommended Posts

What years are compatable with a 1985 CR250? I recently picked one up in dire need of repair. It is missing lots of parts.

Ripper's right. The online fische groups the '84 - '89 CR's together and that usually indicates that lot's of parts will interchange.

Sorry, gonna have to be the contrarian here.

The 85 CR250 is almost a stand-alone model. Honda was making big changes every year for a while and the 85 is in that period.

Examples from memory:

85 was the last year of the ATAC system. It had a very strong low-end motor but ran out of breath very quickly.

The 86 got the nik cylinder, HPP valve, cartridge forks and so on. Much broader and smoother engine and stunning forks. A "works" bike for the masses, it marked a year where Honda crushed the competition, both on the track and on the sales floor.

I believe you'll find the plastic to be different, also.

The there are a number of changes from 86 to 87, then 87 to 88 and also 88 to 89.

Did I mention they liked to change things back then? :ride:

Pull up an online fiche and check for yourself - my memory isn't what it used to be.
