YZ250F forks...

Recommended Posts

Hey, I am trying to help a friend with fork seals, but we can't seem to figure out how to get the top and bottom apart. We got the top off and all the fluid drained, but I think there is a special tool needed maybe. You can see some threads, but I don't know where to unscrew from? Anyone have a service manual they can scan for me? I also need to know how much fluid to put in.

Thanks! Mike

Pull the dust seal down and remove the big clip that holds the oil seal in place. After the clip is removed sharply pull the tubes away from each other and they will come apart. This may take a few pulls to inseat the bushing.

I know that is 'standard procedure' and I have done seals before, but the top of there is no way to get the cartidge off.

thats because they are twin chambers. you have to remove the whole assembly then proceed.
