Premix Oils

Recommended Posts

anyone have opinions about castor based oils.

particularly maxima 927.

Currently using ROCK OIL fully synthetic. This oil seems to work fine, however, jetting is difficult to judge due to the color it leaves on the plug. This oil tends to burn very clean and leave very little residue. It also can turn your plug almost a greenish color @ times.

Just looking for some feedback. Dont want to deal with a headache or powervalve gumming problems from castor if not neccessary.

opinions welcomed!

I run maxima casotr 927, seems to work well, its a very thick oil. It leaves a good amount of carbon (im running a little rich) but i just had to clean it when i did the top end, so no problems to report.

I use Klotz R50. It protects as good as castor oils but burns much cleaner. Last top end rebuild all it took to clean the power valve was a little spray of carb cleaner and it looked like new. There was a very light build up on the piston but absolutely zero on the cylinder head. The downside is that it can be a little spoogy if you don't keep the bike in the powerband most of the time.
