idiot repeat Q, which pipe/DJ kit for SM?

Recommended Posts

Please forgive me. No FCRs available (?), so will go with pipe & DJ kit & 3x3

for now.

Siince no one seems to list SM, should I go with S pipe & DJ kit? I guess I can just call TT store & they will advise. I took it Yosh was the best. But now some people with Staintune are starting to make me wonder...

Thati is a street bike mostly.

Thanks!

I see the SM kit on Thumptalk store. When I order should I also order

a couple additional jets to have on hand in case needed & what sizes?

(sea level).

The 440 big bore kit is also looking enticing. Can you use that with stock carb & DJ kit? How long a job is that for average home mechanic? And you can use normal gas or not?

Thanks again.

get at 25 PJ and if your going to do a big bore, the sky is the limit. At that point you can swap out cams, base gaskets, etc... If you do a big bore you should go with the FCR too....

Big bore work just fine with the D/J kit and stock carb.

As they are about the same price, I would (did) do the big bore first.

94mm piston and 12.5 to 1. runs on ordinary pump fuel in the UK.

It took me a morning to fit mine, but I re-shimmed the valves at the same time.

By far the best mod to date.

I bought my SM with the 440 big bore Athena kit installed already by the dealer (no cam change/stock carb), and I added the 3x3 and DJ SM jet kit, 25 pilot, extended fuel screw, K&N filter, Muzzy SM exhaust, 91 octane pump...the combination works great, no issues at all
