2003 kx250 tips & tricks

Just bought a 03 kx 250 in great shape. Any one have tips for this bike? Clickers settings, oil, maintance, etc.

If you are good with a wrench, do yourself a BIG favor and tear apart the rear suspension linkage and swingarm and grease ALL the bearings and bushings. Kawasaki puts a TINY amount of grease from the factory, and water quickly destroys the bearings. Mix a 50/50 mix of grease and antisieze, and your bearings will last years with no maintenence.

Use KAYABA 01 or any good 5W. As far as doing the work, you really need a manual as there is more to it than twisting off a top nut or a screw. If you haven't worked on forks before, you may want to pull them off and take them to a good shop to get them serviced with new seals and wipers too.

Do grease all the linkage. I would suggest 100% grease, not 50%. Why not use 100% lubricant instead of only have what you could use?

Check the air filter cleanliness, replace spark plug, clean carb, clean and oil chain, fork oil, shock oil and transmission oil changes.
