Watkins thanks

Recommended Posts

I crashed hard out at Watkins today about noon (Sunday). My girlfriend was watching and this is her description cause I don't remember any of it. Got tangled in some ruts and had the bike just shoot out from under me. I proceded forward head planting in to a berm, hit so hard I bounced up in the air and then face down on the berm. I was out for about 10 minutes. A doc who was riding out there came up and checked me out as I was coming to. My memory doesn't start again for about 30 minutes but I was awake. Dink up my shoulder pretty good but other wise I'm still kicking. My girlfriend said lots of people stopped to help and I just wanted to thank everyone. ?

It was really ugly, and how you ended up that far from your bike I can't figure out. I know for a while it was scary when you didn't move. Hopefully your getting better, and she's giving you a little TLC.

I saw the aftermath of your crash and it took awhile for you to come to. I ride with the Dr. who helped you, his name is Quinn. We usually ride there on Sundays so if you want to thank him come up and see us. We park on the East side on top of the hill. He put your bill in the mail this morning so keep an eye out for it!

Glad to hear your okay! I was parked a couple cars down from you and it did not look good from where we were sitting. We saw the bike laying there and originally thought you got shot over that berm or worse thrown over the bars and landed on the face of the berm neck first. The james marshall and ernesto fonseca crashes really make you realize it probably does not take much to break your neck. Literally

Rex - I also saw the aftermath of the crash and came up on you when you were coming out of it. I am glad to hear you are alright. Many nice people stopped and blocked traffic, it was great to see how other riders look out for each other. The Doctor that was checking you out is my brother Quinn. In fact after riding he called one of his Doctor friends who is a leading head trauma specialists and asked him about the latest and greatest way to treat a accident like yours in the field. Now he has me learning how to assist him for when we come across another accident. It was a rough day for alot of people, with the muddy conditions and all. I was the idiot that some of you saw over jump the large table top right in front near the tractor hit the ruts and miss grab my front brake. I then proceeded to shoot off the track and come within 4 feet of a moving purple Nissan truck, DUH. Those ruts were everywhere. Anyway, I will tell him you are OK and said thanks, and like Jdogg said we are there almost every Sunday, come and say hi. :ride:

Troutman I really want to thank him in person so hopefully I will catch you guys out there soon. I'm out there with an 05 CRF with blue handguards so it stands out.

I Fly it was the camel back after the big table in the center of the track. Well just after it there were some ruts just before the left hander. Last thing I remember is clearing that camel back thing. I can get it all the way. I remember landing it smooth and thats my last memory before I was sitting back at my truck. I'm piecing things together from everyones stories.

Rex, Glad you are Ok. I was out there Sunday as well. Fortunately, I missed your crash. It was tricky out there. I had been hitting the step up and I saw the standing water and did not think to much about it. Well, came up behind some riders not jumping and so I rolled it and my front wheel sank up to the forks in the water and mud. I rode another lap and left. I am working out of town this week and did not want to risk missing my flight due to a poorly timed face plant.

I have been on the ground a few times at Watkins, I have always had guys stop to help.

Heal fast.
