harjp1959 Posted August 22, 2006 But only 105 HP to the rear wheel..... Since the Aprilla and Gas Gas have come up, just thought I'd put out this $19,900 "alternative" to the DRZ! http://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/bikes/bike.jsp?b=hp2
Talenuf Posted August 22, 2006 Forget that BMW tank, how 'bout this sweet looking alternative? http://www.buell.com/en_us/bikes/ulysses/xb12x/colors.asp#
harjp1959 Posted August 22, 2006 Forget that BMW tank, how 'bout this sweet looking alternative? http://www.buell.com/en_us/bikes/ulysses/xb12x/colors.asp# Oh wow. That's a nasty looking bike!
N1atEcon Posted August 22, 2006 I was in the BMW dealership a month ago. The sales guys were hitting me up and this one guy say's "so what do you think? Do you want to take one home?" I didn't tell him I thought it was really ugly, but I did say that I fall over about once a month. And i just couldn't see myself falling over on a $20,000 motorcycle. Especially with thoses cylinder heads hanging out. You would have to take out a 2nd on the home to pay for the damages. I wonder how it will fare in the Paris to Dakar? paco291 My Ride Posted August 22, 2006 Forget that BMW tank, how 'bout this sweet looking alternative? http://www.buell.com/en_us/bikes/ulysses/xb12x/colors.asp# That bike has some nutz... i rode one a while ago. I'd feel really sad if i dropped that thing. Talk about tall!!
Sergio3 Posted August 22, 2006 nice, i would consider the bike, but i only have 100 more payments on my drz.
another drz guy Posted August 22, 2006 I'll take neither of them thanks. my old boss just 'had' to have the first BMW........still not impressed. btw, the drz weighs 291 dry
trailblazer87 Posted August 22, 2006 I think I could stand to ride one of these: http://www.ktmusa.com/950-Super-Enduro-R.67.20.html a little heavier and slightly less hp, bu thalf the price and I think a little prettier.
kawidual Posted August 22, 2006 Id rather have the KTM: He makes riding 400lbs look easy. http://www.ktm-sommer.de/Bilder_allg/SE950_Video_1.mpg
huskyfatman Posted August 22, 2006 Forget that BMW tank, how 'bout this sweet looking alternative? Sweet looking ? I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me they're both fugly! The Buell weighs alot more than the Bimmer, but at least is has way less travel. Here's another ugly but goodie, I saw one cruising through my neighborhood today. I didn't know they were out yet. http://www.ktm950superenduror.com/
ppennings Posted August 22, 2006 My riding is dirt and a little road but mostly dirt, dirt and well, dirt. So why would one want or need 1200cc or more than say 50hp in a dirt bike? This would cause serious traction control problems in the wet and/or dusty powder. BMW were making a 650cc "dirt" or dual sport bike which didn't have the boxer motor but vertical piston/s, what happened to that Mr Bavarian Motor Works? Goebz My Ride Posted August 22, 2006 They have the Bimmer discounted to $17,000 around here, still more than I paid for my last car. Pretty wild bike. Those jugs hanging out there are scary aren't they? All those bikes are too huge to ride offroad (for me anyway). A V twin TransAlp would be cool tho. Very smooth on the road, lots of torque and not that overly heavy. They are still hot items all over the world, except in the US. We are hooked on MX and Sportbikes. Regalman Posted August 22, 2006 After riding in tight trails the weekend before last, I"m thinking more along the lines of this. http://powersports.honda.com/images/model/c028_029_030_031_photos_all/motorcycles/2007/CRF250X/largeHoriz/CRF250X_large_01.jpg
GP1K Posted August 22, 2006 Id rather have the KTM: He makes riding 400lbs look easy. http://www.ktm-sommer.de/Bilder_allg/SE950_Video_1.mpg David Knight makes riding pretty much anything anywhere look easy! That KTM is sweet, but not really a competitor for the DRZ. The Aprila 450 however...
jsb223 Posted August 22, 2006 I would buy one or two but the tank is too small... :-)
Goebz My Ride Posted August 22, 2006 Those CRFs are over rated. Light to be sure but I wouldn't trade my Z for one.
