Can a newbie install a Mikuni?

Recommended Posts

So, I've had the bike torn down to the carb, (Pulled subframe, etc.) but got scared when I looked at the throttle cables.

How hard is pulling the old and installing a new carb?

Are the throttle cables a pain?

Thanks,

Steve

If you got this far you should not have a problem pulling the cables. Loosen the screw that holds the cables to the carb and pull it off as a unit and then take the throttle off as a unit as well and your done!

Replace with the Mikuni and new throttle and your all set.

in my opinion, the hardest part will be getting the cables into the twist throttle housing. But that is not bad considering the power blast you will get when you are done.

Those cables are tough. I put everything on but could not get on the cables on the twist throttle correctly. I ended up taking to the dealer to have them adjusted correctly.
