not the usual valve question

to get right to it i have a 05 250X no major mods just air box and open stock pipe. I'm checkin my valves myself for the first time no big deal everything went well in dissassembly. here's what i dont understand.....stock clearance is (.005mm) my left is .008 and the right valve is down to no clearance...if the valves always get tighter there should be more clearance on both correct? and how does one side go from honda spec to zero clearance.. could this be leading to a more hazardous problem?

let me guess, its the right intake that is bad'? The tight valves inst pushing up andthing to give it a false reading on the other, If it is at or less then zero then it need to be shimmed badlt. You are losing compression. SSHim the tight one first and check to see if the other has changed but i doupt it
