D606 vs MT21

Recommended Posts

Anyone have any experience with trying both of these tires? I was just wondering which one held up/lasted longer for you. I'm currently running the MT21's and considering trying the 606's. The MT21's will end up lasting me a little over 3k.

I don't see the 606 lasting longer, it's a pretty soft compound, but it sure hooks up better

I ran MT21 rear for about 3,500, only had the 606 on for a week

I tried both and based on my own observations, the 606 lasted a little longer getting approximately 2500 kms vs 2000kms on the mt21s. Beyond the quoted mileage, these tires were just to worn and dangerous on both road and trail.

I never ran a mt21 front but ran both rears. The 606 is noticeably better in dirt.Couldnt tell the difference on road.however the 606 was easier to put on"at least for me"And I got a front and rear for 112$US from rocky mountain atv delivered.Everyone else who posted is getting about double the mileage that I get,and I didnt notice any wear advantages between the two.

I've seen the same thing happen to the MT21's. The rear tire lost bits of chunk

pretty easy off road. On the street it was fine.

I think the 606's a better all round tire. However the front 606 does get a

bit washy in tight stuff on the road so I think the MT21 front might be better?

Neither the MT21 or 606 like wet streets.

I hope this helps.

Here's my D606 at 359miles

My MT21 lasted 3,000miles and I got around 2,500miles out of a Trackmaster Neither one of them chunked a single knob

Dude... if your 606 looks like that at 300+ miles .... then to get 3000 out

of a MT21 you must have never taken it off road while the MT21 was on

the bike. My pig eats tires at around 800 to 1000 miles average.... 3000 miles

on a MT21, you could never have taken the bike over 2000rpm

I have just about 3500 on the MT 21, the rear is pretty shot, have more traction on pavement than dirt right now.

Not sure what the next ones will be the kenda K270, looks like some thing I may try for the winter. Any one try them? Questions comments...
