Are all CR 125's unpredictable to weather Changes

Recommended Posts

I am not the worlds best jetter but when its right its right.. My sons rides an 02 Cr125 In Harescrambles and Track. Heres the Question... When the temperature is around 80-87 the air screw is right at 1.5 out.If the temp gets to 90-95, 1.3/4-2 turns out If the temp raises to 95-100, 2-2.5 out.The problem is we will foul a plug before I can get the changes made. If I am not looking at a thermostadt to adjust the air screw then we are. I try my best to get the fastest Idle out of it by turning the air screw before each ride.

Setup Fatty -to shorty silencer

380 main

32.5 pilot

3rd clip position

R-50 premix @32:1

1240 altitude

Welcome to the world of the TMX , the world's most sensitive carb.

I have the same issues with my 03 CR250. I got it running clean with a JD kit but it still doesn't change how sensitive it is to temperature changes.

My advice would be to get a Keihin - PWK or even a PJ. I haven't found a cure for the sensitivity issue.

That may buy you some time but may also create other problems.

It's an inherently sensitive carb and I wish I had enough time to try to find a cure for it... but I think the best cure starts with a "K".
