pipe and silencer..

Well im gunna be getting a pipe for my 04 cr125 im thinkin about the fmf factory fatty or the fmf sst pipe. Anyways ive been hearing that i should just leave the stock silencer on my bike because an aftermarket one will make no differnce over the stock? Is that true? If i get a after market silencer i will get the fmf shorty but will i notice anything and is it worth another 100 bucks? Any advise will help.

You can just get the pipe and leave the stock silencer, it just wont look as good but it's its all preference and budget. My bike came with a nice shiny pro circuit platinum pipe with a big dent in it lol. From my experience the aftermaket pipes dont seal well against the exhaust flange, or it could just be mine. If i was in your situation I would just leave the stock silencer on as it wont make a difference in power thats worth 100$ ?

Alrightt anymore advise? Whats the best all around pipe? Im pretty intrested in the fmf factory fatty. Does anyone here have one?
