450 big bore require FCR carb jetting??

Recommended Posts

I have a full Yosh pipe, a pair of stage1 Hot Cams, and the Keihin 39mm FCR with manual choke. I just ordered a 450 big bore kit. Will the carb require jetting changes? Here's how the bore kit is described:

450 Big bore kit for DRZ400, LTZ400, KLX400, KFX400 Aluminum sleeve, Nikasil plated, JE 95mm 13-1 compression piston kit (piston, rings, pin and clips) cometic top-end gaskets.

I have not changed anything in carb except for the needle. I bought the one recommended by Burned. My bike runs great with Burned's recommended setup. I'm not worried a little because I'm changing the arrangement with this big bore kit. Thanks for any help!!

fishpie is right, jet it down (leaner). It won't run leaner as the big bore has a higher volume to fill and will "pull" harder on main jet, allowing a smaller main jet than the stock bore.
