Sawdust Question

Recommended Posts

I know this is probably a stupid question but I'm gonna ask anyway......what exactly does sawdust do to a track? Does it just make it softer? One of my local tracks is a very soft and loamy track and the ruts are huge, and they just added tons of sawdust....so does that mean it's gonna be double soft with bigger ruts or what?

I would guess that it would be to make it softer, but to me I dont see really advantage to doing something like that.

sawdust decomposes dude, think about it, it breaks down into nice soil, eventually.

it will mix in and you wont notice it anymore dont worry too much

It holds moisture within the soil. So when worked in to the soil it will help prevent the track from becoming hard packed and blue grooved.
