470 Big Bore Failure Prevention?

Recommended Posts

So I have a TR470 kit on my bike which has about 120 miles on it.

From reading up here it seems that the propensity for sealing issues could be probable.

I know it could be a "it works or it doesn't" proposition.

Are there any preventative measures to help out this?

Make sure I warm up the bike well before taking off?

Water wetter?

Re-tourque often?

Makes me think of the high output 2 strokes. Start out 2 quick get a cold sieze. Let it sit to long idling and get a cold sieze. Harley's have had the same head gasket issue for a long time.

Let it warm up, start the ride easy to warm it completely, then ride.

I don't know if retorquing would matter. Maybe someone else will though

I'll know better this Tuesday as it gets the FCR and Ohlins on it.

Seems to be quite torquey though even with the 36CV on it that isn't jetted correctly.
