They look really well finished. Are they just a KTM with fi and different plastics though?

No...AFAIK, 07 "still" use carb and not EFI...what they have is a linkage in rear suspension which makes a HUGE difference....both suspensions are actually from dif brands than KTM...Nissin brakes, very nice digital panel,etc.

They seem some extra HP thanks to dif. exhaust and airbox.

...but the real strong points are better handling and high speed stability.

The main focus of American Beta is customer and dealer support. They have seen the support from other companies become limited due to volume selling and market share demands. American Beta has no shareholders. All of the employees ride. Beta owners will be able to contact American Beta direct for infomation, service support, and other needed service as needed. They feel this is what will seperate Beta motorcycles from the others.
